Job Description:
Ford Motor Company is seeking a talented and experienced Axle/Driveline Architecture Engineer to join our dynamic team in Livonia, MI. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, focusing on axle systems and components. In this role, you will design, develop, and test all-new axle systems to ensure they meet performance, durability, reliability, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
– Design and develop new axle architectures for trucks, vans, and off-road vehicles.
– Conduct simulations and analyses to optimize axle performance and reliability.
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of axle systems into vehicle platforms.
– Oversee the early prototype development process and conduct rigorous testing to validate design specifications.
– Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to axle systems and components.
– Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to axle engineering.
– Prepare and present technical reports and documentation to stakeholders and management.
– Implement and promote best practices for axle design, testing, and manufacturing processes.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
– 3+ years of proven experience in driveline/axle design and development, preferably within the automotive industry.
– Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, materials science, and engineering principles related to axle systems.
– Experience with testing and validation of mechanical components and systems.
– Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
– Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
– Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
– A Master’s degree is a plus.
