About us:  

Foster Family Farm is a family-run partnership dedicated to producing high-quality vegetables for local consumption in both retail and wholesale markets. We grow and sell a wide variety of vegetables on our farm and are looking for a Farm Operations Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure the smooth running of the farm.

Job Description:  

The Farm Operations Manager will handle a range of tasks including sales staff management, CSA programs, farm stands, market planning, crop planning, inventory ordering, and more. The role requires working closely with farm owners and managing various aspects of farm operations.

Key Responsibilities:  

– Manage sales staff: recruitment, training, scheduling, and issue resolution  

– Oversee CSA programs: platform maintenance, client communication, and box preparation  

– Manage farm stands and farmers’ markets: staffing, money floats, and market preparation  

– Plan crops: seed ordering, planting schedules, and harvest calendars  

– Handle inventory and ordering: seeds, supplies, and resale products  

– Manage snow routes and client communications  

– Ensure insurance policies and vehicle insurance are up to date  

– Assist with technical writing: grant writing and government applications  

– Inventory and manage chemicals used on the farm  

– Handle marketing and social media: client communication, content creation, and newsletter management  

– Utilize QuickBooks for billing and invoice management  

– Monitor and upload products to local platforms

Qualifications:  

– People management: 1 year (required)  

– Microsoft Office: 1 year (required)  

– QuickBooks: 1 year (preferred)  

– Google Docs: 1 year (preferred)  

– Social media management: 2 years (required)  

– Class Canadian Driver’s license (required)  

– English (required)

– Pay: $50,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
