Job Description:  

We are looking for dynamic, hands-on leaders with a passion for Chinese, Malaysian, and Singaporean cuisine. As a Head Chef or Sous Chef at Chew On This, you will be responsible for driving growth and success in our kitchens while maintaining the highest standards of food quality. You will play a key role in menu development, staff supervision, inventory management, and ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities of Head Chef:

– Develop creative menus reflecting current trends  

– Ensure consistent presentation and flavor in every dish  

– Supervise kitchen staff; provide training and development  

– Manage inventory control, cost management, and ordering supplies  

– Adhere to health/safety regulations while fostering teamwork and collaboration  

– Inspire creativity within the culinary culture

Key Responsibilities of Sous Chef:

– Aid in menu development with creative input  

– Supervise daily kitchen activities ensuring consistency and quality  

– Contribute to staff development and supervise kitchen operations  

– Maintain strict health and hygiene standards  

– Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies

Qualifications/Experience Required:

– Minimum 3+ years (Sous Chef) or 5+ years (Head Chef) experience in a senior chef leadership role  

– Familiarity with a wide range of cooking techniques  

– Strong knowledge of profit/loss margins and systematic budgeting  

– Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities  

– Passion for excellence and innovation in culinary pursuits
