Job Description:  

We are looking for motivated individuals to join our team as Mental Health Support Workers. Due to a genuine occupational requirement, we can accept male applicants only (Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act). In this role, you will provide outstanding care to the people we support in their homes, ensuring their well-being and safety. Our flagship supported living service on Reigate Road is an 8-minute walk from Ewell East train station and has on-site parking.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • – Provide person-centered support for adults with forensic mental health backgrounds, learning disabilities, and autism.
  • – Engage in physical activities with service users, such as biking, fishing, and swimming.
  • – Use or be willing to be trained in restraint techniques as required.
  • – Work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
  • – Demonstrate strong values and a person-centered approach in all aspects of care.
  • – Contribute to care planning, risk management, and assessments to support service user development.

Qualifications:  

  • – Experience working with individuals with mental health conditions, autism, challenging behaviors, and learning disabilities.
  • – Willingness to work shifts to meet the needs of the service.
  • – Resilient, enthusiastic, and proactive approach to care.
  • – Ability to demonstrate empathy and understand the needs of service users.

Desirable Qualifications:  

  • – Experience in forensic mental health, supported living, or residential settings.
  • – NVQ qualification in social care or Care Certificate (training can be provided).
  • – Knowledge of diabetes management (training can be provided).
  • – Valid driving license.
  • – Reside within a 30-minute commute/drive to Epsom.

– Pay: £11.90 per hour (Overtime rate: £12.40 per hour).

Sponsorship:  

To qualify for Tier 2 Sponsorship at Accordia Care, candidates must meet the following conditions:

– Must already live within the local area of Accordia Supported Living Service in Reigate Road, Epsom KT17.

– Must already be in the United Kingdom on a Student Visa and have graduated.
